NAV to BC Migration

Migration Quote Requirements
This document describes the requirements for quoting on NAV to BC Online migrations. It also describes what is migrated and what is left to do after a migration.
Required information
- No of companies
- Size of database
- SQL version
- NAV version
- NAV database access options:
- copy of NAV SQL database (preferred)
- access to NAV database directly
- NAV Development client required
- NAV User required, SUPER permissions
Quote limitations
- only NAV standard is migrated
- custom data (tables 50000..99999) is transferred
- add-ons are not migrated
- migrate to empty company
- migrate to online BC environment
- disclaimer for data corruption
- disclaimer for invalid data (e.g. inventory costing)
- responsibility of customer to verify a functioning system and processes
Migration prerequisites:
- access to NAV database
- access to BC environment
- normal user, normal license (ext. accountant license)
Post migration:
- some setup of features like mail, documents and users are required
- custom data can be imported into newly created apps on demand
- so after migration the decision on what data to use can be explored, deployed and test with little effort
- most NAV add-ons do not have migration tools
- new installation of add-on extensions are needed
