BC360 Foundation Level
The foundation layer of apps contain cross-platform functionality and technical features that support many BC360 applications. For example an EDI engine, Cloud Storage Explorer and an Import app.
BC360 Foundation sits between BC360 Core and the business application layer. It contains technical and cross-functional apps that are not specific to one business process but provide capabilities that many other BC360 apps depend on and build upon.
Storage Explorer brings cloud storage directly into Business Central in a familiar way. It works like Windows Explorer — you can browse, upload, download and organise files in cloud storage without leaving Business Central. It removes the friction of switching between systems to manage documents and files related to your business data.
EDI Automation and Integration is our EDI engine for automating the exchange of business documents with customers, suppliers and partners. It handles the structured communication that modern supply chains depend on — orders, invoices, despatch advices and more — without manual intervention. Built directly into Business Central, it keeps your data flows reliable and auditable.
Import enables repeated, template-based importing of files into Business Central. Users define their own import templates, which means recurring data imports — from suppliers, external systems or other sources — can be run without developer involvement. It puts control in the hands of the people who know the data.
Together these apps form a technical foundation that makes the rest of the BC360 platform more capable — connecting Business Central to the outside world and making data flows faster, more reliable and easier to manage.
